First Confererence organized by FRATIA on 26th of February 2015, at Hotel “Ibis Parliament Palace”, Bucharest

The conference aims to raise awareness on the situations of exploitation in the agricultural sector in order to create a culture of respect for the rights of workers in this field.

Forced labor / exploitation represents a direct attack to the fundamental rights of workers, through the deprivation from the basic elements that constitute a decent personal and professional live: job security, fair wages, social security, equality of opportunity and treatment, social integration, etc.

There is a need for a common approach and a concerted action of the public institutions, social partners and civil society representatives, on one side, as well as a proper promotion of the social and moral principles and values, dignity, legality and security, on the other, in order to combat and eliminate all forms of exploitation and illegality.

The conference will involve, in this regard, representatives of public authorities, farmers and agricultural workers, trade unions, non-governmental organizations and media representatives.

The event is part of the project “AGricoltural job Rights to End foreign workers Exploitation – AGREE”, HOME/2012/ISEC/AG/4000004390, implemented with the financial support of the Prevention of and Fight against Crime Programme of the European Commission.
